Setting up for kvvi.net with IE 4.0 (Windows 95)

First, go to 'Start' 'Programs', 'Internet Explorer', 'Connection Wizard'.

The first screen you will come to will welcome you to the Internet Setup Wizard. When you see this screen, click 'Next'.

This screen will ask you how you want to connect to the Internet. From this screen, click your mouse on the button for 'I want to set up a new connection on this computer for my existing Internet account using my phone line or local area network (LAN). Click next.

This screen will create a Dial-Up Connection for you. This will be the part of the connection wizard that will configure your Dial-Up Networking for Kvvi.net. In this screen, select Create a new dial-up connection'. Click Next.
This screen will ask you to enter your area code and the phone number of the computer you are dialing. For your area code, enter the appropriate information. For the phone number, enter the phone number you were given when you established you r account. If you are not sure what phone number to use, please contact us NOTE: Please make sure that the number you choose is a local call for you. If you are not sure if the phone number you have chosen is local, consult your local phone company for further information. Kvvi.net will not be held responsible for any long distance charges you may acquire. If you are not sure, do not use the number until consulting with your local phone company.

After you have entered the phone number, uncheck the box that says Dial using the country code and area code' and click Next.

This screen will ask you for your username and password. Your username is the name that you chose upon signing up with kvvi.net. Your username is also the first part of your email address (i.e. - if your email address is 'mark@capital.net', then your username is 'mark'). Enter your username in all lowercase letters in the area that asks for it. Below that is your password. This was assigned to you upon signing up for Kvvi.net. This should be a mixture of letters and numbers and should not be shared with anyone. Enter your password in the area provided also in all lowercase letters. You will not see your password come up on the screen as straight text, rather as small x's to provide security. Once your have this information in place, click 'Next.

For the 'Advanced Settings' screen, select 'Yes' and click 'Next'

On the 'Connection Type' screen, you will be asked to select what type of connection you have. For this, accept the default selection (PPP) and click 'Next'

For the 'Logon Procedure' screen, accept the default of 'I don't need to type anything when logging on' and click 'Next'.

For the 'IP Address' screen, select 'My Internet service provider automatically assigns me one' and click 'Next'

For the DNS Server Address' screen, select Always use the following:' and enter the following information.

DNS Server: 208.20.66.1 Alternate DNS Server: 208.20.66.2 In the 'Internet Mail Account' screen, click 'Create a new Internet mail account' and click 'Next'.


For the 'Dial-Up Connection Name' screen, enter 'Kvvi.net' for the connection name, and then click 'Next'

In the 'Set Up Your Internet Mail Account', click 'Yes' and click 'Next'

In the 'Your Name' screen, enter your name into the text field and click 'Next'.

In the 'Internet E-Mail Address' screen, enter your email address (username@kvvi.net) in the text field and click 'Next'.

For the 'E-mail Server Names' screen, enter the following information.
The incoming mail server selection should be set to POP-3' (Default)
The incoming mail (POP-3 or IMAP) server is: mail.kvvi.net
The outgoing mail (SMTP) server is: mail.kvvi.net

The 'Internet Mail Logon' screen, select 'Log on using:' and enter the following:
For POP Account Name', enter your username in all lowercase letters.
For Password, enter your password, also in all lowercase letters

The 'Friendly Name' screen, type 'Kvvi.net Mail' and click 'Next'
