Pam Rock, Shelter Manager |
The North Country Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to
Animals (NCSPCA) annually cares for up to 400 dogs and cats who have been
surrendered, abandoned or abused. The organization maintains a no-kill
shelter that provides compassionate daily care until a loving home can be
found. In addition, the NCSPCA
provides special services: spay/neuter through the Farnsworth Fund and
rehabilitation of abused animals through the Dewey Fund.
The NCSPCA also works closely with
local law enforcement to end animal cruelty.
The shelter serves most Essex County towns (including Keene). Private donations, given primarily by the greater Essex County community, support 80% of the organization’s budget. The NCSPCA’s endowment fund is managed by the Adirondack Community Trust. Giving can take many forms. Financial donations can be sent directly to the shelter or you may call Pat Radcliffe at 576-9222 to discuss other giving options. The NCSPCA always welcomes volunteers who can assist in daily pet care and the shelter’s foster care program. The donation of goods and services is also greatly appreciated. For more information, please call Pam Rock at the shelter. |
