Putnam Camp

Putnam Camp is a small private camp originally
founded in 1874 by four young men from Boston.
It was a retreat for some of the most distinguished
doctors, philosophers and writers of the
late 19th and early 20th centuries. In 1909 the
founders of psychoanalysis (Jung, Ferenczi and
Freud) stayed at the camp. Over the years buildings
have been added and the trees have grown
to obstruct the view, but it remains a rustic
haven for thoughtful people, many of whom have
life-long ties to Camp.

Please join us for the annual Keene Valley
Library Association Summer Wine and Cheese
Party. This year we are grateful to the Trustees
of Putnam Camp for allowing us to hold the
party at this historic site in St. Huberts.
Come see your friends and meet others who love
our Library. Participate in the silent auction.
Listen to great music. Tour the Camp. . . .
And help support the Library. Send us your
donation ahead of time or pay at the event.
Invite your friends to join you at the party!

Directions to Putnam Camp:
The camp is located in St. Huberts. The main
Camp entrance is off Route 73 (to the left when
going south) between the two Ausable Club Road
intersections. Only people who cannot walk
should drive into the Camp as space is limited.
Early birds can park in the two Hiker Parking
areas near the back entrance to the Ausable
Club. You can walk up Lee Lane to the Camp
from there. Others should park carefully along
Route 73. Signs will be posted.
