KIM AND REGGIE

Kim and Reggie Harris, singers, songwriters, storytellers, educators, historical interpreters and cultural advocates will perform both at 1:00 and 4:00.  They are well known for their musical stories of the Underground Railroad and their freedom songs.  They have performed with Pete Seeger, Janis Ian, Jay Leno and Richie Havens.

Fran has over twenty-five years of experience telling Adirondack stories, folktales, original stories, and wisdom tales and using storytelling in a healing capacity. group of the National Storytelling Network. "She moves her audience … with an ease of narrative … as compelling as it is refreshing." (Connecticut Storytelling Festival)

Regina Carpenter

Regi Carpenter is a fourth generation “river rat” who grew up in the Thousand Islands on the St. Lawrence River in Northern New York. Her stories, folktales, music and myths are full of a great river, magnificent and immense, and the people who inhabit its shores.

Mary Murphy

 

Mary Murphy captivates and enchants the audience with her voice and expressive face. Her humor and sometimes her Irish brogue pervade her stories and tickle the listener.

Mary Stewart

Mary is a tall and strong woman, with chapped hands and red cheeks. She lives a simple life in a cabin in a small Vermont town.  She cooks, grinds corn, grows her own food and plants seeds,  The only story that matters is the one you hear.  

Mary is a woman who keeps a story as a sacred reminder of our responsibility to the world.

Joe Doolittle

Alden (Joe) Doolittle began storytelling when his children were young (a long time ago) and realized it was also good method to motivate and teach staff in health care management. He listens for stories in all aspects of his life and collects those he believes will entertain and teach others. Joe has a particular interest in local historical stories.

karen

Karen Glass Karen was born 1000 years ago and has lived many lives; wizard, activist, teacher, gardener, mother and grandmother, librarian and quilter. The lives come together now in her stories. She tells folktales, stories of strong Adirondack women and original tales of the Adirondacks.
